What a difference a year makes

I was debating on keeping up with the monthly pictures, and had almost forgotten that she was 13 months old before the day was done which is why she is in her pajamas.

She is walking everywhere now, and getting quite the personality. She definitely has her own personality, too much like her mom and dad! She is stubborn just like both of us, which is scary. She is very much into exploring the entire house, including all drawers and cabinets. She sure keeps me busy!

Day 1 down

I had to work in the office this morning, and I guess Garrett wasn't feeling up to the "no bottle challenge" so he gave her one this morning. I had to play mean mommy when I got home and not give her one in the afternoon or this evening. She actually did really well. I think it helps that she can't really talk yet and ask for it, so I am glad we are doing it now! I am cleaning them all out tomorrow morning :)

Every day her hair gets more and more out of control. I have straight hair, so I have no idea how to manage curly hair.

1 year appointment today

Katelyn had her 1 year appointment today. She is 29 inches tall (50% percentile) and weighs 19 lbs 15.6 ounces (20% percentile). We need to fatten her up! She is doing great developmentally, and is right on track. The Dr. did say that we should quit the bottle cold turkey, which sounds like it will probably be harder for me than her...then we are supposed to quit the pacifier cold turkey as well. Maybe I will just go on vacation and let Garrett handle this.

Yesterday we went to an indoor kid's play place with my cousin and the little boy she takes care of.

She is starting to walk more and more. She can take about 10 steps on her own now.

New Appliances

We have been wanting a new dishwasher for a long time, and our refrigerator was leaking so we decided to get all new appliances. We decided to install them ourselves, which is not as easy as it sounds. We spend two hours installing the microwave!
